Information Sharing with Video

Wow! What an incredibly difficult and unpredictable time we are currently in. As everyone does their best to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, so many companies are searching for virtual revenue streams. Video streaming services like Zoom, Google Hangouts, and YouTube are vital, and while so many industries are hurting, video is being highlighted.

Personally, I've never been so busy! Much of my work is in education. I not only produce videos, but I also teach video production at both Hood College and Frederick Community College. The irony is, I've had to find ways to transition all of my assignments and lectures about video to video.

I think the normal reflection of video is that it is a novelty, but in actuality, it is a very necessary mode of information sharing. Video production and content is able to help facilitate learning, not just for students, but for faculty, staff, administrators, and the community, especially as we take extreme precautions with social-distancing during this pandemic. From an economic survival standpoint, especially for small to medium-sized businesses, finding ways to incorporate and implement powerful video is pivotal. Even for sidelined service industries like small restaurant chains, creating brand awareness and community involvement through social media may serve to resurrect a business when the time comes.
